LaparoS
Inovative laparoscopic simulation training
VirtaMed LaparoS
Take advantage of VirtMed's decades of experience in training and laparoscopic training. Your students and trainees will enter the operating room with confidence!
Laparoscopic platform
VirtaMed LaparoS™ is a multifunctional platform, which allows you to switch quickly between laparoscopy and other modules for anatomy on VirtaMed: GynoS™, UroS™ and ArthroS™.
VirtaMed LaparoS™ features an anatomically correct model of the abdomen, which can be used for (reverse) Trendelenburg position as per the training case. The free choice of portals gives trainees the opportunity to learn to work with instruments with different trocar placement. The realistic laparoscopic instruments are adapted for simulation and combine complete freedom of movement with authentic haptic interactions. The simulator is optimized for ergonomic training with adjustable operating height and mobile multi-touch screen.
LaparoS™ Basic Skills
The module presents a perfect setting for practising basic laparoscopic skills, while virtual reality training is also carried out at the same time. Indicators of objective feedback provide skill-based feedback in order to help trainees accelerate their learning curve.
Using optical simulation 0° and 30°, trainees can gain experience in camera navigation, hand-eye coordination and develop ambidextrous psychomotor skills. All instruments have authentic ring shaped handles and virtual nozzles/tips for instruments like applicators, scissors, needle holder and atraumatic handles.
LaparoS General Surgery
It starts with patient positioning, using Trendelenburg or supine position. After that, Active Trocars™ are placed for trainee's range, as well as for the instruments. Standing either shoulder to shoulder with another colleague for team training or in individual mode.
Laparoscope placement allows to examine the whole insufflated peritoneal cavity, while inserting more trocars and instruments. Using a combination of blunt dissection and electrosurgical instruments, so that sensing the feedback of tissues individually for every organ is made possible.
Reduced (selected) training cases are focused on specific skills and undesirable events, which allows trainees to concentrate on repetition and mastering of each individual skill. Improve ambidextrous skills and non-dominant hand by using rare cases of patients 'Situs inversus totalis'.
LaparoS
Gynecological Laparoscopy
The platform is also compatible with the modules for training on hysteroscopy VirtaMed GynoS™ in order to provide comprehensive training in accordance with the basic stages of ACGME, ABOG and ACOG.
It starts by putting the patient into Trendelenburg position and placing Active Trocars™ for trainee's range and instruments. Standing either shoulder to shoulder with another colleague for team training or in individual mode.
Students go through training cases of diagnostic laparoscopy, anatomy identification, cutting and resection and more training cases derived from many realistic scenarios, including hysterectomy, tubal sterilization, ovarian cystectomy, salpingectomy, andexectomy and salpingectomy for managing extrauterine pregnancy.
